COMMENCEMENT OF ON-LINE SPA TREATMENT BOOKING SYSTEM

Dear True Spa and True ’Est Members,

In order to serve you better, we are pleased to inform you that we will be launching our online booking system on 1st June 2012. This online service will allow you to track and manage your treatment bookings more efficiently.

This improvement will not affect bookings made previously in any way. Moving forward, with effect from 1st June 2012, all booking must be made via our online booking system.

For members who have already completed the conversion process, an email with a username and password will be sent to the registered email address provided during the time of the conversion. In the event you have not received the abovementioned email, please email us at booking@truespa.com.sg with your Full Name, NRIC Number/FIN Number/Passport Number.

Please note that the procedure for the conversion of your True Spa package remains unchanged.

On-line Treatment Booking Procedure / Terms & Conditions

On-line Treatment Booking Procedure for Redemption of Coupons

  1. Once the coupons are issued to you, you shall only make bookings to redeem the coupons at the participating spas via our on-line booking system. Please do not make any bookings or call the participating spas on any issue concerning bookings as they will not accept any enquires on bookings.
     
  1. Bookings can be done up to sixty (60) days in advance but not earlier than seven (7) days in advance (excluding booking date.)

For example:

a)    If you wish to book an appointment on 1 November 2011, you need to book no later than 24 October 2011.

b)    If your booking date is on 24 October 2011, you may choose to book up to 23 December 2011.

  1. You will receive an email within two (2) working days with a confirmation of your booking request if your booking slot is secured.
     
  1. For details of the participating spas, their locations, booking time and types of treatment offered, please refer here.
     
  1. In order to ensure that the participating spas are able to accommodate the bookings of True Spa & True ‘Est members, please note the following:

Each coupon is valid for a period of 1 month and the expiry date will be stated on the coupon. The coupons will be issued on the following basis:

(a)  The expiry date of Coupon No. 1 shall be 1 month from the date of issuance and each coupon thereafter up to Coupon No. 36 shall be stamped with an expiry date of 1 month after the expiry date of the preceding coupon. (Members with not more than 36 coupons shall be known as “Category A Members”).

Category A members are only entitled to make a booking to redeem 1 coupon per month.

(b)  Coupon No.  37 to 72 shall be dated the same day as Coupon No.  1 to 36 respectively. (Members with more than 36 but not more than 72 coupons shall be known as “Category B Members”).

Category B members are only entitled to make a booking to redeem 2 coupons per month.

(c)  Coupon No.  73 to 108 shall similarly be dated the same day as Coupon No.  1 to 36 respectively; and (Members with more than 72 but not more than 108 coupons shall be known as “Category C Members”).

Category C members are only entitled to make a booking to redeem 3 coupons per month.

(d)  Coupon No. 109 shall be dated with an expiry of 1 month from the expiry date of Coupon No. 36 and each coupon thereafter up to Coupon No.  144 shall be dated with an expiry date of 1 month after the expiry date of the preceding coupon. (Members with more than 109 coupons shall be known as “Category D Members”).

(e)  Coupon No.  145 to 179 shall be dated the same day as Coupon No.  109 to 144. (Members with more than 109 coupons shall be known as “Category D Members”).

Category D members are only entitled to make a booking to redeem 4 coupons per month.

  1. Category B, C and D members are not entitled to redeem more than 1 coupon at any same participating spa group on the same day.

For example:

a)    You may book a treatment at Mary Chia at Goldhill Centre on 1 November 2011 at 11.15 am, and another treatment at Rustic Nirvana at 3.30 pm on the same day of 1 November 2011.

b)    If you book a treatment on 1 November 2011 at 11.15 am at Mary Chia at Goldhill Centre (Novena), you cannot book another treatment at Mary Chia at Urban Home or Mary Chia at Jurong Safra or Mary Chia at Oriental Spa Chamber (Mosque Street) on the same day (i.e. it must be a different participating spa)

  1. Once your booking is confirmed, any cancellation must be done via our on-line booking system at least seven (7) days before the treatment date, failing which it will be considered as a no show and all participating  spas shall be notified that your coupon is forfeited and/or deemed invalid.

For example:

If your appointment is booked for 1 November 2011, you need to cancel at the very latest by 24 October 2011. Cancellation of treatment on 25 October 2011 onwards will not be effective and will be considered as a no show and consequently the coupon number used to make such a booking will be deemed invalid and cannot be used for any treatment.

  1. Please note that the participating spas are entitled to inform us seven (7) days in advance should their location be closed for any special functions or internal events (this may affect a booking that you have already made previously). Upon being given such notification from the participating spas, our booking team will write to you informing you that your booking session has to be vacated for that reason and you will be offered alternative dates for your bookings.

Redemption of Coupons for Booked Treatment

  1. Please note the following points on the usage of the coupon:

(a)  Please ensure that the original coupon presented for redemption bears the same coupon number which was used to make the booking. The participating spas will not accept a different coupon number from the one used to make the booking for redemption of treatment and, accordingly, services will not be provided by the participating spas. If you fail to bring the correct coupon, your booking for that slot will be treated as fully redeemed.

(b)  Any coupon that is without an authorised signatory, ink stamp of the company, photocopied and/or tampered with will not be accepted. The coupon will not be replaceable if damaged or lost. 

(c)  The coupon is valid up to the expiry date stated (subject to any cancellation to be made seven (7) days before treatment date) and any expired coupon will not be accepted.

(d)  The coupon is strictly redeemable against the specific service stated and cannot be exchanged for cash in part or in full.

(e)  The use of the coupon is strictly subject to the respective participating spas’ prevailing terms and conditions and their operation hours. Prior to booking a slot for treatment at any of the participating spa, you are required to read their terms and conditions carefully on their respective websites. You should note that some of the spas have included in their terms and conditions to reject treatment on medical grounds. Under such circumstances, your coupon used in the booking at that spa may then be treated as utilized if your treatment have been rejected based on medical grounds.

Redemption of Unused Packages with Intercontinental Beauty and Wellness Association (IBWA) and Other Participating Spas

Dear True Spa and True ‘Est members,

  1. Further to the agreement reached between IBWA spas, True Spa Customer Core Team and True Group, we are pleased to confirm that the registration exercise will commence on 15th October 2011.  
     
  1. Members who wish to redeem their unutilized True Spa / True Est packages through spa services provided by the participating spas should contact us by emailing to cs@trueyoga.com.sg and indicating a mobile and/or contact number. Upon receipt of your email enquiry, our staff from the Conversion team will respond within two (2) working days by writing or by calling to fix an appointment with you.

 

Registration Process

  1. On the appointment date given to you, please attend personally at our conversion office at 19, Tanglin Road, #06-10/11, Tanglin Shopping Centre, Singapore 247909. Please note that we will not be able to service walk in customers and only members with a specific appointment date given will be attended to. You will need to bring along your original NRIC or Passport or Employment Pass and the yellow copy of your True Spa/True Est Agreement for verification.
     
  1. You will be required to fill up a Declaration Form to declare full details of your outstanding package (we will recognize any bonus credits given in your contract) including  details of any previous redemption with Subtle Senses Pte Ltd (in liquidation) (“Subtle Senses”) and/or redemption with any spas from the Spa Beauty and Wellness Alliance (“SBWA”).
     
  1. After our staff has verified your claim amount to be correct and accurate (“Verified Amount”), you will be asked to indicate how many spa coupons you wish to be issued to you for either a 60 minutes body massage which is priced at S$107 or a 60 minutes facial which is priced at S$127. You are entitled to have the spa coupons issued in either 1 category or a combination of both at your election.
     
  1. Subject to the individual spa’s protocol and terms and conditions, a facial may include cleansing, exfoliation, toning, mask and moisturizing.
     
  1. The value of the coupons to be issued should be equal to or less than the Verified Amount. However, you may elect to pay the difference to have one additional coupon issued if the coupon values exceeds the Verified Amount. Please see the example below for an illustration.

For Example

You purchased a spa package: S$2,000 (inclusive of GST) with S$1000 bonus credits (Total S$3000).

You have utilized your packaged (i.e. whether previously with True Spa/True Est and/or, Subtle Senses and/or SBWA) amounting to S$625.

Un-utilized value of the spa package: S$3,000-S$625 = S$2,375

Example 1

You may redeem either 22 Body Massage Coupons

(S$107x22 = S$2354)

Or 23 Body Massage Coupons with a top up in cash of $86

(S$107x23 = S$2461)

S$2461 - $2375 = $86 top up.

(Please note that if you do not wish to top-up, we will only issue 22 Body Massage Coupons and no cash refund can be made. This will apply to the following examples as well).

Example 2

You may redeem either 18 Facial Coupons

(S$127 x 18 = S$2286)

Or 19 Facial Coupons with a top up in cash of S$38

(S$127x19=S$2413)

S$2413 – S$2375 = S$38 top up.

Example 3

You may redeem 10 Body Massage Coupons (S$107x10=S$1070)

And

11 Facial Coupons with a top up in cash of S$92

(S$127x11=S$1397)

Total= S$2467(S$1070+S$1397)

Top up amount= S$92 (S$2467-S$2375)

  1. Please note that each coupon is valid for a period of 1 month and the expiry date will be stated on the coupon. The coupons will be issued on the following basis:

(a)  The expiry date of Coupon No. 1 shall be thirty (30) days from the date of issuance and each coupon thereafter up to Coupon No. 36 shall be stamped with an expiry date 30 days after the expiry date of the preceding coupon. (Members with not more than 36 coupons shall be known as “Category A Members”).

(b)  Coupon No.  37 to 72 shall be dated the same day as Coupon No.  1 to 36 respectively. (Members with more than 36 but not more than 72 coupons shall be known as “Category B Members”).

(c)  Coupon No.  73 to 108 shall similarly be dated the same day as Coupon No.  1 to 36 respectively; and (Members with more than 72 but not more than 108 coupons shall be known as “Category C Members”).

(d)  Coupon No. 109 shall be dated with an expiry of thirty (30) days from the expiry date of Coupon No.36 and each coupon thereafter up to Coupon No.  144 shall be dated with an expiry date of 30 days after the expiry date of the preceding coupon. (e)  Coupon No.  145 to 179 shall be dated the same day as Coupon No.  109 to 144. (Members with more than 109 coupons shall be known as “Category D Members”).

Booking Procedure for Redemption of Coupons

  1. Once the coupons are issued to you, you shall only make bookings to redeem the coupons at the participating spas by emailing to booking@truespa.com.sg. Please do not make any bookings or call the participating spas on any issue concerning  bookings as they will not accept any enquires on bookings.

If your preferred choice of Spa/Treatment/Timeslots is not available, you will be offered alternative dates and times for your acceptance. You should be mindful to accept the alternative dates and times offered before your coupons expire.
     
  1. For details of the participating spas, their locations, booking time and types of treatment offered, please refer to Appendix B enclosed.
     
  1. In order to ensure that the participating spas are able to accommodate the bookings of True Spa & True ‘Est members, please note the following:

a)    Category A members (as defined in paragraph 8 above) are only entitled to make a booking to redeem 1 coupon per month.

b)    Category B members (as defined in paragraph 8 above) are only entitled to make a booking to redeem 2 coupons per month.

c)    Category C members (as defined in paragraph 8 above) are only entitled to make a booking to redeem 3 coupons per month

d)    Category D members (as defined in paragraph 8 above) are only entitled to make a booking to redeem 4 coupons per month.

  1. Category B, C and D members are not entitled to redeem more than 1 coupon at any one of the participating spas outlets on the same day.

Example:

Conversion to True Fitness and Yoga Membership/Personal Training Sessions

  1. Members may also wish to consider the alternative option of converting their unutilized True Spa and True Est package (including bonus credits) (“Unutilized Package”) into an All Clubs True Fitness and Yoga membership at the rate of $175 per month. The All Clubs True Fitness and Yoga membership grants unlimited access to all of 6 True Fitness Centres and 2 True Yoga centres in Singapore (excluding Original Bikram Hot Yoga).
     
  1. Members also have an option of converting their unutilized package (including bonus credits) into Personal Training Sessions with a True Fitness Instructor priced at S$100 per session. In order to exercise this option, you must either be an existing True Fitness member with at least 4 months membership remaining or must utilize your outstanding package to convert into a 4 month All Clubs True Fitness and Yoga membership before converting the rest of your outstanding package into Personal Training Sessions.
     
  1. Members who wish to have the benefit of this conversion exercise should contact us at cs@trueyoga.com.sg.

Thursday, 22nd September 2011

Released jointly by IBWA spas, True Spa Customer Core Team and True Group. An agreement has been reached between IBWA that represents more than 20 spas, True Spa Customer Core Team and True Group by which the remaining unutilized spa packages held by some 8,000 True Spa clients would be redeemed at IBWA spas. The main points of the agreement are as follows:-
 

  1. True Spa clients would be treated equally as IBWA spas own clients. By this
    scheme, True Spa clients can redeem their unutilized packages at no cost to them.
     

  2. IBWA spas would set aside a minimum of 50 beds per day for True Spa clients that are approximately the number of treatment beds available in True Spa outlets in Ngee Ann City and Cuppage Terrace before both outlets were handed over to Subtle Senses in 2010 to handle the redemption.
     

  3. The capacity reserved for True Spa customers is 10% of IBWA spas capacity. IBWA spas have a 500 bed capacity.
     

  4. With this allocation, the IBWA spa centres can handle more than 5,000 treatment sessions per month from the 50 beds allocated to True Spa clients.True Spa clients would therefore get at least one treatment per month per client.
     

  5. This registration exercise will begin on 15th October 2011 while redemption at the participating centres will start on 1st November 2011.  
     

  6. True Group would set up a special logistics office to handle all enquiries of True Spa registration from 15th October 2011.
     

  7. Fuller details will be published in newspaper notices and on the websites of IBWA spas and True Spa at a later date.

MEDIA STATEMENT

True Spa Seeks Resolution for its Members

True Spa Pte Ltd and True Est Pte Ltd  (collectively "True Spa") entered into an agreement with Subtle Senses Pte Ltd in April 2010 whereby Subtle Senses took over the leases for the various outlets operated by True Spa and under which all of True Spa's assets were transferred to them .  A substantial sum was also paid to Subtle Senses to take over the operations of True Spa and Subtle Senses expressly agreed to honour all existing True Spa's membership packages and service all of True Spa's members.

Unfortunately, Subtle Senses went into liquidation in November 2010 and defaulted in its obligations to True Spa.  True Spa intends to pursue their claim against Subtle Senses and its directors for the default of their obligations.

Upon the liquidation of Subtle Senses, the True Group immediately stepped in to assist its members by giving them an opportunity to convert the outstanding packages under their contracts with True Spa into a True Fitness and Yoga membership. To date, 1140 members have come forward to convert their packages and the True Group intends to continue this exercise and invites their True Spa members to come forward for this conversion exercise.  Additionally, spa members can also convert their packages into personal training sessions together with their True Yoga and True Fitness memberships.  True Spa members who wish to have the benefit of this conversion exercise should contact us at cs@trueyoga.com.sg.

True Spa has worked hard to find a solution for True Spa members who would prefer spa services.  We are happy to announce that a spa association the Intercontinental Beauty and Wellness Association  (IBWA) with over 20 spas has agreed to service those members who wish to continue with their spa packages and the full redemption programme will be announced shortly.  Mr Ananda Rajah, who is the Vice President of IBWA is confident that the association will be able to accommodate all the outstanding packages of the affected True Spa members.

RE: Conversion of True Spa and True ‘Est outstanding credits to True Fitness and True Yoga membership

Dear True Spa and True ‘Est members,

On 13 December 2010, the True Group launched an ex gratia goodwill solution to convert the remaining value under affected members’ True Spa and True ‘Est packages into True Fitness and True Yoga memberships. This is offered as an alternative for members who do not wish to take up Spa, Beauty and Wellness Alliance’s (SBWA) offer of assistance and members had to indicate their interest in writing by 28th February 2011.

We had previously sent official letters to affected customers via post, electronic mail and also made this announcement on the True Spa website. However, at the request of members, the True Group will now extend this deadline to 31 March 2011.

Affected members who are interested in taking up the above offer will need to write to our customer service representative at cs@trueyoga.com.sg before the deadline of 31 March 2011. Kindly refer to our previous announcement dated 13 December 2010 for further details on the said conversion plans.

Please also be reminded that upon selecting a conversion of the Unutilized Package into our All Clubs True Fitness and True Yoga membership, we will inform SBWA accordingly and members may no longer redeem packages with SBWA.

Dear True Spa and True ‘Est members,

This letter serves to explain the background in which the business operations of True Spa Pte Ltd and True ‘Est Pte Ltd came to be transferred to Subtle Senses Pte Ltd (“Subtle Senses”). In light of the recent liquidation of Subtle Senses Pte Ltd, we are also writing to you to propose an ex gratia goodwill solution to convert the remaining value under your True Spa and True ‘Est packages into True Fitness and True Yoga memberships, strictly at your option.

As you may be aware, True Spa Pte Ltd and True ‘Est Pte Ltd (collectively “True Spa”) and Subtle Senses entered into a business agreement (“the Agreement”) which resulted in the transfer of True Spa’s entire spa and aesthetics business operations to Subtle Senses. Under the Agreement, Subtle Senses took over the leases for the various outlets operated by True Spa (including the rental deposits paid to the landlords), took over all of True Spa’s assets which included furnished facilities and high grade aesthetics equipment, and assumed the obligations of servicing all of True Spa’s outstanding membership packages. A substantial amount of cash was also paid by True Spa to Subtle Senses under the Agreement.

An essential condition of the Agreement stipulated that Subtle Senses undertook to honour all existing True Spa’s membership packages. Subtle Senses also expressly agreed to indemnify True Spa from any claims made by existing members who are not satisfied with Subtle Senses’ level and quality of service.

This business agreement stemmed from the True Group’s decision to streamline its operations and focus on its rapidly growing core businesses (i.e. fitness and yoga centres) in Singapore and in the region. The True Group took considerable time to search for the right candidate who could deliver a high standard of service, and believed it found the right candidate in the Health Trends Group, which owns Subtle Senses. The Health Trends Group was chosen as they own a healthcare portfolio of medical, aesthetics and wellness clinics in Singapore and Hong Kong with reputable brand-name clinics like The Sloane Clinic® and Astique Medical® in Singapore, and the CliniCentral brand in Hong Kong.

Since its inception in 2003, Subtle Senses won numerous Excellent Service Awards including the “Promising Brand” award at the 2007 Singapore Prestige Brand Award, and the “Established Brand” award just two years later. CEO of Subtle Senses Gerald Lim was also recognized as Entrepreneur of The Year in 2007. Subtle Senses, an award-winning spa, presented itself as a natural and reliable choice given their past credentials and accolades.

All business operations including staff, membership contracts, facilities, equipment, operating and I.T. systems were handed over to Subtle Senses as of 25th April 2010. All decisions including staff recruitment and compensation, utilization of members’ packages, operating hours, customer relationship management, etc also fell under the management of Subtle Senses as from that date.

As all of True Spa’s assets and business operations have been transferred to Subtle Senses as of 25th April 2010, True Spa currently does not have any assets and is no longer in a position to service their members. Since being notified of the liquidation of Subtle Senses recently, we have immediately initiated talks with the Spa, Beauty and Wellness Alliance (SBWA). The SBWA has now announced on 11 Nov 2010 that they will step forward to assist True Spa and True ‘Est members subject to certain conditions. Please refer to the SBWA’s website (www.sbwa.com.sg) for details.

 

Conversion of True Spa and True ‘Est outstanding credits to True Fitness and True Yoga membership

 

The liquidation of Subtle Senses has been very sudden and unexpected and we are grateful to the SBWA for their offer of assistance. We hope that True Spa and True ‘Est members will engage SBWA in relation to their offer of assistance. As an alternative, True Fitness and True Yoga (which are separate business units and entities from True Spa and True ‘Est) would like to offer on a goodwill basis an opportunity for affected True Spa and True ‘Est members to convert their remaining unutilized spa and aesthetics package (including bonus credits) (“Unutilized Package”) into an All Clubs True Fitness and True Yoga membership. The All Clubs True Fitness and True Yoga membership offered grants unlimited access to all of 6 True Fitness Centres and 2 True Yoga centres (i.e. a total of 8 centres) in Singapore. Please see the appendix for the location of the 8 centres.

The method of conversion is to use the remaining value of your Unutilized Package to be converted against the list price of our All Clubs True Fitness and True Yoga membership which is priced at $214 per month (inclusive of GST).

For Example

·         Purchased spa package: $2,000 (inclusive of GST) with $1000 bonus credits

·         Member utilised package value amounting to $625

·         Un-utilized value of the spa package : $3,000-$625 = $2,375

·         Period of fitness and yoga membership converted = $2,375 ÷ $214 = 11.09 months (round up to 12 months).

The above proposal for True Spa and True ‘Est members to convert their Unutilized Package into the aforesaid All Clubs True Fitness and True Yoga membership is strictly voluntary and offered purely only as an option for members who do not wish to take up SBWA’s offer of assistance.

Affected members who are interested in taking up the above offer will need to indicate in writing their interest by 28th February 2011 to our customer service representative at cs@trueyoga.com.sg

To assist members further, on a case by case basis, we will consider your request, at the time you elect to convert your True Spa/True’Est package, the opportunity to transfer the converted True Fitness and True Yoga memberships to your immediate family members only, subject to adequate proof of relationship.

 

Kindly note that upon conversion of your Unutilized Package into our All Clubs True Fitness and True Yoga membership, we will inform SBWA accordingly and you may no longer redeem your packages with SBWA.
